About the Bride
Alison is the middle child of three and maintains a loving, yet very
sarcastic relationship with her siblings, Jenny & Tim. Born in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin but raised in Murray, Kentucky, Alison claims Murray as
her hometown and maintains that Kentucky was the best place to grow up.
Having moved back to Wisconsin with her family, Alison realized that being
close to her family was the upside to leaving her friends in the Bluegrass
State.
Following in the footsteps of her grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles,
Alison graduated from Marquette University, where she studied Exercise
Science. She is loyal to Marquette athletics and was raised to believe
that the Badgers and Irish were her mortal enemies.
Alison is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Adult Education with an
emphasis in Professional Development and plans to graduate in May of
2012. She has worked for the Wisconsin Humane Society for the past five
years and is currently the Counseling Services Manager. Alison's works with
a wonderful team of people who share her passion for animals, which makes it
easy to go to work each day. Alison's passion for animals has been life-long
and something she is excited to share with Peter. In fact, Peter's soft
spot for animals allowed the two to reconnect at the Wisconsin Humane
Society.
About the Groom
Besides his love for Alison, Peter also loves his family immensely. His parents, Nick and Kathy, are his role models and his younger sister, Andrea, is his pal and confidant.
When he isn't busy at work as a legal analyst, Peter enjoys spending time with his friends and family. Peter loves sports and is a lifelong Brewers fan, who lives and dies with every pitch. During the Brewers off-season, Peter finds himself keeping tabs on the Packers and Marquette hoops. And fortunately for Alison, Peter also enjoys cooking.
Peter loves to travel and thinks a honeymoon in Vietnam would be ideal- Alison disagrees. He hopes that he and Alison get to see much more of the world together!
Peter feels very blessed to have Alison in his life in addition to loving and supportive family and friends.
The Beginning
Alison and Peter met in a unique way, which allowed them to become good friends before starting their relationship. Peter and Alison fell out of touch for a few years, until Peter's huge heart landed him at the Wisconsin Humane Society with donations for shelter animals. Knowing that Alison worked at WHS, Peter left his business card for her, just to say hi. Soon they began emailing each other, just catching up. Emails turned into phone calls and phone calls into dates, within a matter of months, it was clear Peter and Alison were meant to be.
